World Cup Craziness:
Italy won and the streets went wild. I watched the game but had to wake up EARLY for work.....but the Italians drove through the streets until late honking horns and yelling. I was rooting for them, so I didn't mind too much.
Americans really can't relate to how much Europeans love "football." It's really a unique phenomenon.

There is a large Italian-American population up here and all day people were driving around waving enormous Italian flags and after the game, honking their horns. It was fun to see people get so excited about the game.
It would be nice if Americans could get into football, but everyone seems to think it's boring. One person said that other countries wouldn't like soccer if they had other sports available! Such arrogance!
Here in Canada, in St Catharines (near Niagara Falls Ont.) we have an Italian population with an Italian club. On that particular day, you could see all day cars driving by with the Italian flags attached, passengers leaning out the cars as they pass with the Italian flags shouting and honking their horns. Toronto has an Italian community and streets were shut down there.
Canadians seem to be not as interested in soccer( my dad is from England and loves soccer and can't understand why they find it boring) but some Canadians also have that same "soccer is boring" mentality.
